What is a port?
A hosted connection to one tool. Your agent reaches every port you allow through one address. We handle the sign-in, hosting, and upkeep.
How do I control what an agent can do?
Each connection has its own rules: which operations are allowed, whether writes are on, and which high-risk actions need a confirm. An agent either has access to a connection or it doesn't, and you set that for each agent.
What happens if I switch AI providers?
Add the Toolports address to the new agent and sign in. Your connections and rules stay put, so there's nothing to reconnect.
I changed an agent's access. Why doesn't it see the new tools?
Agents keep the tool list they loaded. Ask the agent to refresh its Toolports tools; no new chat is needed.
How do I cut off an agent?
Switch off its access in Toolports. Every connection it could reach stops on its next call. To pull just one connection, switch off that one.
What if my agent can't sign in?
Some agents can only send a header. For those, create a named key in Toolports and paste it in. It reaches the same connections, under the same rules.
Which AI agents does it work with?
Any agent that can connect to a remote MCP server.
Why not connect each tool to my agent myself?
You can. But you'd get all-or-nothing access, and you'd redo every connection for each new agent and undo each one to cut it off. Toolports does it once and keeps you in control.
